The front desk clerk pointed us to a short, winding path up to the bunny slope entrance for Mt Shasta in the morning. We went up, made a couple of snowballs, and took pictures so we could say we'd been there. It was drop-dead gorgeous. That night, the restaurant connected to the property was closed, so we picked up food to microwave and eat in the room from a local grocery store. We were there over March Spring Break with our kiddo, and the ski-lodge-style room worked perfectly for our family of three. It had two queens on the top floor, plus a fridge and microwave. We watched a movie together. The quaint little hotel is just right for a night in this folksy town. I'd recommend it for the hospitality, convenient town location, and easy access to the freeway.

I picked it online for the price while passing through for one night, and was pleasantly surprised. We got cabin 4, all wood inside with beautiful fixtures, and it was extremely clean. It felt more like a resort than a motel, with good places to eat nearby. Across the street, there's pizza at the plant nursery that's something you don't see every day. I'd definitely come back to Shasta Inn for a night or a couple of weeks.

The owner is amazing, really easy to work with, and check-in and checkout are always seamless. This place feels like a second home for us in winter. We always choose the Cabin. I hesitate to say too much because I'd like it to stay available for us! I loved that they kept the flowers I added there. It's comfortable and has everything we need for ski trips. The shower in the cabin can be a little tricky to get hot, but I forget about that quickly because everything else is so convenient. We've also stayed in regular rooms twice and arranged them for friends without any complaints. The location is great, about a mile from the ski park highway entrance one way and the town of Mt Shasta the other. Several restaurants and coffee shops are walkable, and there's an onsite restaurant and bar that's pretty decent. My kids are always excited to get Swiss Miss from the lobby. Everyone's happy here, and we'll obviously be back!

After a 10-hour drive, I was glad to be greeted warmly by the front desk staff and checked into a clean, warm, quiet room quickly. It seemed recently renovated too. This is a perfect overnight stop just off I-5. I took a brisk walk around the nice mountain town, found a tasty dinner, then came back for a much-needed, restful night's sleep.

Most rooms have mini-split AC units, which came in handy on hot August nights and weren't so loud that we couldn't sleep. The rooms are very clean and nicely renovated while keeping the property's old-school charm. I especially liked the wide plank pine ceilings. My wife and I picked the place at random for a late August road trip, and it turned out to be an absolute gem. We were lucky to meet the local owners at dinner that evening. They're hardworking, thoughtful about the details, and very kind. Their onsite restaurant is an unexpected find, and the Peruvian Chicken is, as Sturgil Simpson says, "not to be trifled with." There's a coffee shop within walking distance. Get up early, though, because it seems half the town knows how good it is and the line gets long. Thanks for a lovely stay and for running such a great local place for weary travelers!
