Budget Inn

We came in for a funeral and needed a weekend room over July 4. The woman who helped us was kind, and even took $5 off because of why we were in town. She cleaned the room and brought fresh towels each day. There’s a mini fridge and microwave, and people around the area were really nice. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, and I’d check out COOKOUT. My one personal downside was the very hard bed.

Simple and practical, just what I needed. The owners are on site and handle everything from reservations to housekeeping, and they’re congenial. The complimentary water and signature Bluegrass Country Ale8 were a nice, authentic touch. Five stars! . .

The bathroom is oddly spacious, which I appreciated after seeing how cramped some hotels can be. It was mostly clean, with discolored tile, while the bed and floor were clean too. The place is old and shows its age, but there were no bugs, and the service was friendly and efficient. I didn’t mind the unusual silky pillowcases, though some people might. The dingy, ratty shower curtain really needs replacing, though. It’d only take a few bucks.

I’ve been coming here for several years when I’m in town as an Amish driver from Michigan. It’s a quiet, very clean, no-frills motel, and the owners and managers are great. You can walk to plenty of restaurants. They’ve recently redone the rooms with new flooring and curtains, and did a very nice job. I always recommend it to my Amish driver friends. There’s no breakfast, but with the money you save, I don’t need one. Thanks for another great visit.
