I’ve stayed here two more times since my first visit because it’s right on my route. Each time there’s something new, and staff said renovations are happening gradually as funds come in. The kindness of the staff is hard to beat. My first stay was over Thanksgiving, after an unexpected travel problem. The front desk team was easy to talk to, kind, and helpful, and made a stressful day much easier. I booked a king room. The bed was comfortable enough, the linens were fresh with crisp creases, and the room looked like the posted photos. I felt safe there on my own. Breakfast was simple but enough to get me going, and they had fresh waffles. It was a human experience worth stopping for.

They charged $30 less than any of the nearby options, and everything worked out just right for a quick night on our trip, from the first call through checkout. The rooms look dated, but they were clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh, though it was all dry items. Some fruit, boiled eggs, or yogurt would have been nice. The owners only took over three months ago, so I imagine things will keep improving.

I arrived with a Priceline booking, but for some reason it wasn’t in the system. Mr. Patel went out of his way to make sure I had a room for the night instead of being stranded. We sorted everything out the next morning. His kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help made a stressful situation much easier. Great hospitality and customer service. Thanks again, Mr. Patel! I had a great experience at America’s Best Value Inn in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

My girl and I both really enjoyed staying here, and I’ll be back next time I’m in town. Ash was accommodating, and the new owners have made the place feel pleasant and welcoming. The rooms were clean, the lobby looked spiffy, and the breakfast area was fresh and tidy. Everything was good, including the coffee. Service was pleasant, too.

For a cheap little motel, this was a really nice stay. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and seemed to have had some light upgrades, and the shower water got nice and hot. There’s a gas station and a Hardee’s right next door, with more fast food and a Kroger a short walk away. The basic complimentary breakfast was nice, too. The channel list on the TV didn’t match the guide, and there weren’t many channels to scroll through, though the basics were there. Parking seemed limited, but they were accommodating. If you’re bringing several vehicles, I’d call ahead to check they have room.
