Interlaken Inn & Resort

Dinner in the dining room was delicious, and the dumplings were the best we've ever had. We absolutely loved our comfortable townhouse stay at the Interlaken Inn. It felt like a proper getaway, and our dog was welcomed warmly. He loved being there, and we really appreciated the pet-friendly hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We hope to return soon.

The night-before bonfire deserves more attention. It made our wedding weekend stand out from all the weddings we've attended, and guests kept talking about it afterward. We ordered pizza locally and arranged with Susan for the local brewery to bring kegs for the Interlaken's Bar Cart. The setup was already there: twinkle lights, tables with cute checkered table clothe, smore's, and chairs. Susan and the team made the wedding day run smoothly, helped me set up the decor I'd bought, and even surprised us with flowers on our bed that night. Planning felt easy because Susan was efficient, organized, and thoughtful. Whenever a small issue came up, I could text her and it got fixed. The whole team feels like a family, which made the experience personal and special. Interlaken was the first and only venue my husband and I visited, and we could tell the space had the potential for a magical wedding weekend. The recommended vendors were all ones we loved. The photos and atmosphere were perfect, and the ceremony, cocktail hour, and welcome party exceeded expectations. We fit 140 people comfortably, with the bar and a seven-piece band in the same space. We also got perfect July 4 weekend weather. I'm very happy we chose Interlaken and highly recommend the whole experience.

The wedding accommodations were exceptional, and the food was cooked perfectly. Service was great, and I'd go back. The inn was built in 1892, so its older feel is part of the appeal. Our room was clean and comfortable, but could use updating. The bathroom door was splintered along the bottom, the shower drain didn't work and left us standing in three inches of water, and ceiling moulding had separated in several places.

Family Week brought me here for my first visit this year. The area is beautiful, and that nature nearly made up for the discomforts: a dusty table and microwave, creaking from neighboring rooms beside us, across the hall, and above us, and a few coffee grounds scattered near the coffee pot. Those things help explain why I wouldn't want to return. If a new hotel opens in front of Hotchkiss, I'd gladly try somewhere new. It's uncomfortable to post an honest review, but future guests deserve to hear from dissatisfied visitors. People spend their own money and come with curiosity, whatever the cost. If guests were coming back year after year, I'd expect to see reviews from return visitors, but most seem to describe a first and last stay. Anonymous criticism shouldn't lead to complaints or calls to the guest. That only makes things more uncomfortable. The issues raised should simply be fixed. A hotel should earn the kind of reviews from people who return after ten or twenty years, not worry that negative Google Maps reviews might scare off new customers.
