Rita really made the morning breakfast stand out. The area was spotless and well stocked, with hot coffee and lots of tasty choices. My boys loved it, and so did we. We booked four nights for ourselves and our two kids while visiting family nearby. The rooms were clean, stocked, and just right for what we needed, and the friendly staff helped with anything that came up. Some areas looked newly renovated, which was nice. We’d read comments about the train, but it didn’t bother us. I only heard it once. The kids also loved the pool. We’ll stay here again next time we’re home. Thanks!

The pool was great for the kids, and I enjoyed the sauna. Breakfast had plenty of tasty options, including a fun mini pancake machine the kids loved. Guests can also use the nice, clean gym next door. We hadn’t been back in a few years, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the hotel has been renovated nicely and we had a great stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Rita managed breakfast and was very kind, and she kept the lobby looking fresh and clean. I’d highly recommend the AmericInn in Virginia if you need a place on the iron range.

The evening food option, whether soup, chili, or nachos, was a nice extra, and breakfast had another pancake choice along with fresh coffee available all day. We stayed four days and three nights over Thanksgiving '25. Everything was clean, well maintained, and regularly checked. I was told there’d been a remodel about a year earlier, and it looked very nice. The pool area was great, and the sauna was nicer than some at other Wyndhams. Kirsten and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and informative. Our room had ear plugs for the trains, but none of us needed them. We’d stay again.

The rooms are clean, modern, and up to date, but the location and internet were bad. The hotel sits between the highway and train tracks, and the train blows its crossing horn all night right by the building. I could have put up with the other little issues and even the train noise, but the Wi-Fi was absolutely terrible. Once the hotel gets busy around 4 pm, you can’t even send Facebook messages. I’m pretty sure the McDonald’s down the road has better Wi-Fi. Nice hotel, but the setting and internet are a problem.
