Super 8 by Wyndham Mountain View

We were a family of four and had two queen beds plus a twin rollaway, and the price made the stay feel like a good fit. The stained carpet, broken hinges on some cabinets, and wobbly toilet seat could use attention. Parking was a little tight but manageable, and we felt safe with just one way in or out. Housekeeping did a fantastic job. One suggestion beyond renovations: add do not disturb signs to the doors. We slept late one day and housekeeping knocked to ask if we needed anything. Most of us were awake, but we would've been upset to be woken up. Otherwise, this place was perfect for us.

The quick service impressed me. A light bulb burnt out, and seven minutes after I told the front desk, it was fixed. The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds and a clean, working fridge and microwave. The rate was almost half what the Holiday Inn Express next door charged, making this possibly the best value I've ever had, though it wasn't the best hotel I've stayed in. You won't mistake it for a Westin: there's no pool, breakfast, weight room, or elevators. Still, it punches above its weight.

The price was right and it was quiet. The restroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. The carpet has to go, though. I'm not a fan of hotel carpet, and since they seem to be renovating, maybe it'll be next.

This is my go-to hotel around here. The rooms are clean, the amenities are basic, and there's easy access to lots of food.
