Courtyard Muncie at Horizon Convention Center

Christina Bell is awesome, though I hope I got her name right. The customer service is excellent. The room feels like a studio, and I stay here every time I’m in Muncie. Great job to everyone I’ve met, from the front desk to the bistro and the pub inside. God bless y’all!

The bedding here is outstanding. After our stay last year, I ordered the same wonderful pillows, and now I’m planning to buy the mattress too. The staff are very nice, and last night the night manager went above and beyond. We were back for the Knights Templar of Indiana’s two-day event at the attached convention center. We usually book two nights and head home to Indianapolis on the second day. I thought I’d left a pouch with valuable, sentimental jewelry in our room. The manager went up and checked the bedding and drawers, but couldn’t find it. I eventually found it in the toe of an Oofos clog. I really appreciated him taking the time to look.

A request that should have been simple turned into a very poor service experience at the Courtyard by Marriott. Around 7 p.m., I noticed the shower gel dispenser in my room was empty. I asked the front desk to refill it and mentioned I’d be out for dinner, so I expected it to be taken care of while I was away. When I got back, it still hadn’t been done. I called again and was told someone would come up shortly. An hour passed with no one showing up, so I called a third time. I asked why this request was being handled differently from the first two attempts, and the desk staff hung up on me. This wasn’t just a missed housekeeping task. They had several chances to fix it, but didn’t, and the final interaction showed a lack of professionalism and communication. I expect much better from this property.

We went to town for our grandson’s wedding on Oct. 11, 2025, and ended up feeling taken advantage of during what should have been a happy occasion. We live out of state. I was first quoted $123.20 with a military discount for one bed, then told when we arrived that we didn’t qualify. The new price of $153 seemed fine, but at checkout the next morning, the room was $201.60. They said that was the going wedding rate. Other family members paid around $171.36 for double beds, and our daughter paid $209 for a suite. That doesn’t make sense. Our granddaughter got the same treatment we did. I called several times, as she did, and got nowhere. Case # 756169549. We’ll never stay at a Marriott again, and neither will she. So sad.
