Our host was warm and helpful, and the Miner's Castle Suite was a great fit for our family of four. We liked having a well-stocked kitchen where we could cook our own meals. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. It's also a convenient base for waterfalls, hiking, and our kayaking trip to Pictured Rocks. We had a wonderful time.

Joanne welcomed us at the door, and both she and the friendly guy there made the place feel like a home away from home. They told us about the beach and shared some interesting details about the place. Joanne cooks breakfast for guests in the mornings, was curious about where we'd come from and what we were doing, and had great stories of her own. My husband had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and wasn't sure about it, but we both loved this place. I found it while planning our Michigan waterfalls trip, emailed the guy, and he fit us in for two days after a cancellation, just two weeks before we came. We'll definitely visit again. 💜

The rooms are lovely and clean, and the view is amazing, but I'm still not sure the price was worth it. Despite the “bed & breakfast” name, there was no breakfast or food at all. We could use a coffee maker, but there wasn't even an ice cube for a cold glass of water. Two hours before checkout, while we were dressing and packing, the host used the code to unlock our door and tried to come in.

We really enjoyed our stay and chatting with one of the hosts, Joanne. The place was clean, in a lovely spot on Lake Superior, and in a nice neighborhood. It's a family-run business, and we'd be happy to come back.

Joanna was such a great host and recommended lots of good places to check out. The property was beautiful but also felt very homey. My husband and I stayed here November 5-7, just after we got married on November 3, for our first trip as a married couple.
