My kids ended up loving this place, though the room cleanliness kept me from giving it a higher rating. We had to switch rooms because there was something crusty on one of the beds. The beds were comfortable, but kept sliding off the box springs, which got annoying. The rooms seem partly updated, yet still have that very old hotel feel. We also noticed smells of Indian food in the halls, probably from the baby shower, and pot smoke despite the no-smoking signs. We picked it through Expedia after reading about the indoor pool, and the pool really is great for what it is. The hot tub is a decent size too. The rest of the experience was a strange mix. There was a baby shower in the party room by the pool, a 50th birthday party in another space, and some kind of Venezuelan night at the restaurant and bar. It seems locals rent the party rooms, then some stay on to use the pool and keep the party going. The elevator was a welcome help with our bags, since many hotels on our road trip had stairs only. This was an odd but not bad budget stay, just don’t expect everything to be shiny and new.

There’s a heated indoor pool and spa, but the building has a real abandoned, post-apocalyptic feel. It seems like an older motel that was turned into a hotel some time ago. The rooms were clean, and the place could make a great setting for a scary movie.

The room was decent and smelled clean and fresh, though it needs some repairs, especially by the bathroom. The bed was hard, the pillows lumpy, and the TV remote was missing. They advertise free breakfast, but the clerk didn’t mention it ends at 9 a.m.

I was here during the ice storm because my house had lost power and water. The hotel is strange, but once you figure out where to go, it’s okay. The room was okay too, with no frills. My problem is the $50 security hold. Twenty days after checkout, they still hadn’t released it. I called four times, and they promised to sort it out, though communication was only half in English. I went to the hotel in person on Monday and asked for the hold to be released for the seventh time. I finally got my deposit back that day. I’d contacted my bank about fraud two days earlier, so maybe that got their attention. Do not stay here.
