Comfort Inn Murray - Salt Lake City South

I still never got any receipts, and after posting my review I got a phone call that ended after a few seconds while I was saying hello. I was in an area with good cell service, and nobody called back. I've stayed at other places that required deposits without any problem. The night we checked out, we stayed somewhere else that also required one, and I got it back the next day with no issue. We drove in around 2:10 a.m. and got a room for 2-3 nights while visiting a family member in the hospital. We were barely there, mostly swimming a bit and sleeping. At check-in they asked if I had kids; I said I had two, a toddler and a teenager. I paid for the nights and the $200 deposit without any issue. At first things were okay, apart from one entry door that wouldn't work with the card. Then one night the sink wouldn't drain. I told the front desk, and the man accused me of doing something to it, then said I probably did it on purpose. He spoke to me as if I were stupid, and I got a bad feeling from most of the employees. Housekeeping never came by, even though I'd requested it. About a week later I called to ask about the deposit. The man said it had been returned and could take up to 10 days, or however long my bank took to release it. Around three weeks later, I still hadn't received it. They said my 3-year-old had damaged the curtains and linen, and that the comforter was permanently stained along with other linen. She was on her tablet and slept while we were there, and wasn't naughty. When we checked out, the comforter wasn't stained, and the curtains and linen looked fine. I regret not taking pictures as proof. They also said in their response that I'd abused or damaged the room. I called several times over the following weeks. They were extremely rude, kept interrupting me, wouldn't let me talk, and sounded angry, especially when I asked them to repeat themselves. Once I finally got an answer, the man was very rude. Whether he was the owner or not, they need to work on professionalism and proper communication. Awful customer service. One of my family members was in the hospital there; we live out of state and spent the day at the hospital, only returning to swim a little and sleep. I wish I could've left zero stars, and I definitely won't stay there next time I'm up. I also want to mention that someone from there responded to my review in what I felt was a rude way, saying I should've told the front desk about the issues and deposit. I'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like things connected to them get erased or something. I've read some 1, 2, and 3 star reviews about problems, and their replies came across as unprofessional.

Donna made check-in easy and answered all our questions helpfully. The lobby was neat, too, and I assume Josh has a hand in keeping it that way since he works at the Inn with his wife Rica. This morning Rica was especially kind. I travel with special food and she let me reheat it, and was lovely to chat with. I was grateful for her help. I told the front desk this is the nicest Comfort Inn we've stayed at. Parking was easy, the staff were kind, the rooms clean, and breakfast was good.

The room temperature was easy to adjust, which was especially nice for my 81-year-old mother. We had a satisfying breakfast with lots of options, and the staff were really friendly. The room was exceptionally comfortable, with good pillows and a fluffy comforter. I snuggled in and slept great.

Little problems kept piling up during my stay. I had to call the front desk to get the Wi-Fi name and password, then found the vending machine was out when I needed water. The pool and hot tub towels weren't stocked, so I had to go back to the desk for one, and they didn't have enough quarters for my laundry. I ended up leaving the property several times in one night. For a place this size, they should be prepared for these routine needs and offer the information without making guests ask. I also got the impression the staff didn't care much about working with customers. No one seemed happy to help, and many mumbled when talking, so I had to ask them to repeat themselves. I understand English isn't the first language for some, but people in customer service need to speak clearly or work on it. I hope this feedback is useful, and that I've put it politely.
