Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pauls Valley by IHG

We booked three rooms for our son's wedding, including two suites with plenty of room for everyone to get ready. It was quiet even with occupied rooms beside ours, and I didn't hear much highway noise or get woken by doors slamming. The hotel was clean and updated, and the AC worked great. Both women we spoke with at the front desk were great. My only suggestion: chairs would have been nice in the gated area behind the hotel.

Stacy, their assistant GM, made sure we felt looked after and helped make our stay amazing. She gave us great tips on places to eat and things to see nearby. My husband and I slept so well, and felt as cared for as we do back home in the PNW. We've found our new regular hotel for family visits in Oklahoma. Thanks, Stacy and staff. See you next time!

I travel a lot and stay in plenty of hotels, and this was the worst stay I've had in a long time. I wouldn't recommend it. I booked mainly because I needed the indoor pool for my osteoarthritis after a long trip, but it was closed until further notice when we arrived. The breakfast buffet was supposed to start at 6am, yet by 7am it was nearly picked over. What remained was stale and poor quality, so we went elsewhere to eat. We'd also called the day before check-in to ask about arriving a day early. They said it wouldn't be a problem, but when we showed up, the staff had no record of the call and didn't know we were coming. The front desk lady did give us the room that night at no extra charge, which was the one good part of the stay. UPDATE: I just noticed they charged me $125.08 for that night they said would be on them! The TV was a hassle, needed two remotes, and kept freezing so I couldn't even see the guide. During the day, the housekeeper was loudly laughing and screaming in the hallway several times while we were trying to nap through pain and travel exhaustion. I got so alarmed once that I thought someone might be hurt and got up to check. It was extremely inconsiderate. For this level of service and quality, I'd expect a much lower-grade motel, not a hotel advertising itself as a comfortable place to stay.

Our room and the staff were great, and we had a good stay. Breakfast had a decent selection of hot and continental items, but much of the hot food was a bit bland. The cinnamon rolls and sausage links were good, though. Also, the breakfast attendant didn't speak English, which made it hard to sort out anything that wasn't working properly.
