This was the worst Motel 6. It was advertised as new, but it was nowhere near that. The place was falling apart, filthy, and felt unsafe. They charged a pet fee even though I didn't want my dog in the room or on the property. The front desk man was rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. There was broken glass, trash, and cigarette butts in the walkways. The room had no kitchen items, and the coffee pot they lent me at the desk was filthy. The shower curtain was coming down, so water went everywhere. Most of the fixtures were broken, the room and bathroom were dirty, and bugs bit me in bed, even though it was winter. See pictures. Most rooms were empty when I arrived, but the desk clerk wouldn't let me check in early. After I begged more, he charged $35 for early check-in, only for me to find accommodations so disgusting I didn't even want to go in. At night there was music, bass, revving engines, slamming doors, and people screaming. People generally hung around the lot drinking and smoking. The windows didn't lock securely. Everything about the place was horrible.

The place wasn't clean, the stovetop didn't work, and at night there were a lot of people hanging around in the parking lots. We didn't feel comfortable leaving anything in the car or room, so we headed to Sandy, UT and had a much better stay for only a little more money. The one good thing here was getting a full refund without any hassle.

My boyfriend and I needed a room for one night while moving into a new house. We figured we'd get something cheap for a few hours, and we learned our lesson. We left after about 10 minutes and booked another room across town. The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, mildew, and who knows what else. The mattress felt like something from a prison, the sheets had gross brown stains, the tub was crumbling, and the caulk was moldy. Floors were dirty, the carpet was filthy, and the closet doors were rusty. I didn't feel safe leaving our car in the lot either. Even checking in felt like a bad sign: some sketchy guy wheeled his bike into the lobby and talked to the receptionist like he knew her. How has this place not been shut down? The only good thing, as someone else said, is how easy it is to get a refund. Even the employees know it's uninhabitable.

This place has improved since my first stay, which would have earned a much lower rating. The homeless people and persistent drug dealers have been removed, and security now tries to handle the occasional criminal type. The front desk staff do their best with guests and new arrivals. Rooms are as clean as possible under the circumstances. Security does its own patrols, and police make courtesy rounds too. Violent people aren't around scaring guests away anymore. The place is trying to do better, though a lot depends on who stays there.

We arrived tired at 2 a.m. and were glad to leave after trying to sleep for a few hours. Somehow our reservation had been cancelled, and they charged us more for the room when we got there. It was very dirty: hairs in the sink, a stained bathtub, and a sticky end table that we wiped down with a towel that came away almost black. The room smelled of smoke, there was no comforter, the AC smelled like it was melting, and the toilet was broken. We didn't unpack or touch anything unless we had to.
