Residence Inn by Marriott Temecula Murrieta

I couldn't sleep at all because of domestic violence in the room next door, from midnight until 6 a.m. I called the desk several times, but was told they couldn't do anything. The rooms were dirty, and after I left and came back, there was trash that wasn't ours, including a gas station receipt from that morning, while I was still asleep in bed. I cleaned the rooms better than they had when they gave them to me. They charged me a fee for my service dogs and discriminated against me for having two. The general manager was rude.

At least they had gluten-free choices at breakfast. The rest of my stay left me feeling unwelcome, which was a first for me as a Marriott Bonvoy member. They didn't offer the complimentary water bottles I usually get at Marriott properties, and even that small thing added to the feeling. The room needed attention: a broken sofa, a bathroom door dragging on the floor, tape still on the walls, and towels that smelled unpleasant. The lobby coffee area was also neglected, with cold water and empty coffee canisters. When we mentioned it, the front desk agent made excuses and acted unprofessionally instead of helping. This was well below the Marriott standard. The front desk staff seemed uninterested, too.

The stay at Residence Inn Murrieta Temecula was a disaster. We booked a two-bedroom suite, but the sofa was sunken and uneven. When management said they don't advertise sofa beds, we pointed out that they do advertise sofas. Netflix wouldn't let us log into our account and watch anything, and the dishwasher didn't work, with dirty dishes still inside. I asked to discuss the issues that kept coming up with GM Marlene, but the front desk attendant said that wasn't necessary to resolve things. That struck me as questionable. I've been a Marriott Rewards Member since 2005, and my last few stays at Residence Inn properties in different cities have all been disasters. Marriott is supposed to be about hospitality, so why not try to accommodate a guest's simple request, which is part of the job?

The staff were friendly, and the rooms felt clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.
