The grounds are lovely, and I had a great dinner at sunset by the ocean before spending Monday lounging by the pool. The food and service from the people there were good, and I’d happily return. I’d just bring a beach towel and plan on skipping breakfast. Communication was a letdown. The front desk was empty all morning despite a sign saying someone would be there, and there was no guidance about pool towels. I asked the person cleaning the pool area, using my basic Spanish, and learned we were supposed to use our room towels. The breakfast had been described as a “breakfast buffet, poolside or similar,” but it was a few plates of bread and fruit, pretty mediocre and not what most people would call a buffet. It also didn’t meet food safety code. At least we could eat outside by the pool. The rooms were decent and the ocean view was great. The restaurant was great when open, but when it was closed there was no nearby restaurant or store, though online delivery was available.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and the views were four-star. The room itself felt neglected. The fridge smelled like something had died inside, the pillows were awful, the bed much too soft, and the metal fixtures were rusting. The shower took a while to warm up and was finicky, while the towels were thin and scratchy. We were shown photos of a floor-to-ceiling ocean view, but our room had only a tiny window looking at a rusty vent pipe. The pool wasn’t heated, and getting pool towels meant going to the front desk. Breakfast was the worst I’ve had at a hotel, even though I’ve had some bad ones, and they served plastic utensils at $350 a night. It felt like whoever owns the place had given up and wouldn’t invest in making the stay better.

I didn’t stay here. I was driving by, stopped at the front desk, and asked about rooms and prices, so I thought I’d pass along what I learned. The rooms have only one king or queen bed, and they don’t have cots. For three people, the only option is to rent multiple rooms, at about $240 a night each. I can’t comment on the hotel’s quality or value. I gave it three stars only because Google made me choose a rating.

We loved every part of our stay, and the staff were great. The other guests seemed cheerful too, with big smiles and relaxed, friendly moods. Every room has a view, and the free hot breakfast on Friday through Sunday was delicious. It was such a relaxing, beautiful little getaway. Vacations feel like a luxury for me right now, so thank you to the owners for keeping the prices affordable. I can’t wait to come back. This is the first trip I can remember enjoying without feeling like I was being price-gouged or taken advantage of. From two broke girls in SoCal!

Old, but lovely. It has the feel of a grand movie set from the forties, right beside the ocean with waves crashing next to a big pool. Having breakfast or dining outside was delightful. I’d love to come back someday.
