Aventura On The Ocean

The room and my stay were okay, and the pool was nice and clean. It's a small place, and parking was easy enough. Check-in is online or by phone only, and good luck reaching anyone when you need help. My key lock stopped working, and after more than an hour and 30 phone calls, I finally found the maintenance man, who let me in. Someone called back about 10 minutes later. A couple of other people had the same trouble getting through. If there's no one at the front desk, someone needs to be available to help. I stayed four weeks for work, and nobody ever cleaned my room. Getting hold of anyone was a joke.

The beach was just steps away, the location was nice, and the pool was kept clean. The room was small, as expected, but the "kitchen" had very few utensils or plates and no bowls or spoons. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Still, I wouldn't recommend staying for a long time since there's no daily cleaning service or fresh towels. Noise was a problem: our teen neighbors kept us awake at 3 a.m., and ice cream trucks were constantly driving around the parking lot with music blaring throughout the day.

For a quick girls' weekend, this was an inexpensive choice that beat our expectations, and we all enjoyed ourselves. The location can't be beat, just steps from the ocean. The beds were comfortable enough, though the pillows were awful, so I'd bring your own. Try for a balcony room if you want lovely ocean views. A few things were inconvenient. There was no on-site staff besides the cleaning crew, and they seemed to clean only after guests checked out. We wished there were at least a broom to deal with all the sand that builds up during a beach trip. There were no mirrors besides the bathroom one, which was a hassle for three women getting ready. A handheld mirror might help if more than two people share the room. There were also no outlets by the beds, so if you like using your phone before sleep or when you wake up, make sure it's charged. We were relieved the motel wasn't the nightmare other reviews described.

We love staying here when we want to be right by the beach. The walk takes less than 30 seconds, and the place is clean, affordable, and in a perfect spot. Having a little kitchen in the room, instead of just a mini fridge and microwave, means we can shop for groceries and make our own meals. There’s no front desk, but the customer service is the best I’ve had at any Airbnb or hotel. If something comes up, they sort it out quickly by text or phone during business hours. Five stars from me.
