Beach Club at Montego Inn

For the money, this hotel was great. We saved enough by switching from the resort to stay a couple extra nights. The beds were comfortable, and the pullout couch had a great memory foam mattress instead of the usual thin, bony one. The pool was clean, nice, and faced the beach. The room gets four stars from me because it was a little outdated and had a slight musty smell. It’s right on the beach, with very easy access, and many rooms seem to have some kind of beach view even if they don’t face it directly. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The maintenance man helped us when we needed him, but he seemed grumpy over something minor. He was painting the outside walls on our floor with no notice or signs telling guests to take another route. When I said, “Excuse me, coming by one last time,” he said it was a good thing there was another staircase and seemed annoyed. That kind of snark wouldn’t bother me, but many guests probably wouldn’t appreciate it. The area felt a bit sketchy. My daughter and I walked a few blocks to beachwear shops and saw a woman slumped over from drug use, along with some concerning neighborhoods. I definitely wouldn’t let kids walk around outside alone. There are a lot of run-down hotels nearby, but also plenty of nice ones.

I found this on Airbnb, and for anyone looking to visit the beachfront on a budget, I’d recommend it. The rooms were very reasonably priced and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable, the fridge spotless, and the shower had great water pressure. Beach access was amazing, and the parking was nicely tucked away. There were only two outlets, in the kitchen and bathroom, so plan around that. I enjoyed the stay so much I barely felt like being on my phone, LOL. I’d come back 100 times.

The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and well kept. Service was wonderful, and access to the ocean was great. It made a great place to land during our trip, and we’d definitely return.

The beach is so close that your toes are in the sand in a minute. We were there in early November, and it felt like we had the beach to ourselves. We had such a wonderful time at The Beach Club. I only wish we could have stayed a whole week, and I’d definitely go back.
