I’ve stayed at Carolina Winds for more than 15 years, and every visit has been relaxing and comfortable. The staff are always courteous, and when I’ve needed maintenance or housekeeping, they’ve taken care of it quickly and efficiently. Rooms are consistently clean and nice. Some have had more updates than others, but they’ve all been nice to very nice.

The large heated outdoor pool and hot tub were the best parts of our stay, especially for relaxing, and beach access was good. The staff were kind, professional, and helpful. Our one-bedroom unit could use some updating and a thorough cleaning. There was a lingering smell, as if it had gotten wet at some point, so airing it out might help. The bathroom and shower were cramped and small. It was oceanview, not oceanfront, and rooftops from other buildings got in the way of the ocean view.

For the price, this place was amazing. We booked through Airbnb and had a great experience. Parking was free and easy, everyone was friendly, and I felt safe the whole time. The main building’s pool and hot tub were well cared for, and the main floor was clean. There’s another hot tub and a lazy river in the other building, which I assume are maintained well too, though I didn’t spend much time over there. The elevators were fast. The gym wasn’t great, but that didn’t matter much with a whole beach to walk on and a big pool to swim in. My only complaint is the open hallways. If heights bother you, you might want to choose a lower floor.

Just a side observation: I’ve been a guest of the current renter twice in three years, and the same refrigerator and freezer problems they mentioned three years ago still haven’t been fixed. The listing says updated, but the only change I noticed was a new couch. I’d bring your own bakewere and reusable containers or ziplock bags for cooking and leftovers. I’m not saying every unit is like this, just sharing what I saw so you can be prepared.
