Chic Compass Cove Condo W/ Ocean Views & Pools Condo

There was plenty of room in our modern, clean room, and the staff at check-in were friendly and attentive. The family enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which costs extra rather than coming with the room. The separate charge was reasonable for how much food you can eat. There are lots of pools and hot tubs across the buildings, with enough space that you don't feel crowded.

The indoor pool water stayed consistently warm across all the pools, which was a real plus. The rooms are nearly all renovated now, and those labeled “deluxe” look so much better that Compass Cove has become one of my favorite places again. I've stayed here over a dozen times, and this visit was very good. I'd say they could use a refresh of the pools and other amenities now. The food was the low point. At the Crows Nest, the cheesesteak tasted like the meat was rancid, with so much salt and seasoning that it seemed like they were trying to cover up how old it was. I called the restaurant, but it was closed. Breakfast disappointed too. I'd told my husband how good it had been on previous trips, but this time it wasn't good, the waffle maker was gone, and the biscuits and gravy tasted ultra-processed. The Compass Rose staff were absolutely wonderful. One woman comforted my crying daughter and offered her chocolate, which we really appreciated. I'd recommend this place to families with kids. The front desk could use Apple Pay.

The location was great, and the property worked well for kids. Staff and security passed through the pool area frequently, checking wristbands. Our children spent the day there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with floats, splash toys, and water guns, playing happily with other kids and getting no complaints. Then an older woman screamed at one of our kids and pointed in his face, telling him to get out because of splashing and water hitting her near the pool steps. It caused an argument and upset our kids. Security understood and dealt with it quickly before it escalated further. We were told toys weren't allowed, and apologized. There is a small sign in the corner saying no water toys, but we hadn't seen it, and no staff had enforced that rule with our children or the other kids playing there. With staff and security around so often, consistent enforcement would help prevent situations like this. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

The view was beautiful, and we really liked the easy, short walk to the beach. Parking was decent too; only one night did we have to use the overflow lot across the street. The lobby and grounds were very clean and well kept, and I noticed right away that the pools were clean. Hotel breakfast was tasty and a great price. We stayed in the Pinnacle Tower in a newly renovated room that was nice overall, though the layout felt a bit odd. A lot of the ice machines seemed to be out during our stay, including all the ones on the first six floors we checked. When I called the front desk about it, the response wasn't friendly or helpful. We had a good stay, but the maintenance and customer service issues could definitely be improved.
