We got a call saying the police had been called on us, but nobody told us when it happened. We've barely been at the condo. There's also a wasp nest outside our door, and the screens are broken.

We came to stay in my mother's condo here, and I'd definitely recommend renting a place. The beach is an easy walk away, and the landscaping is lovely. Each morning I saw staff cleaning and testing the pool, and they kept watch over it during the day too.
The rental rules were a problem from the start: motorcycles and pets aren't allowed unless you live there, along with plenty of other restrictions they don't explain upfront. We also felt unwelcome, even though my family has vacationed in Myrtle for ten years and usually had a great time. Our room didn't match the pictures. I sent them photos of all the problems, and nothing was done. There was mold on a shower curtain in one bathroom, a bracelet left in a bed, swimsuit bottoms in the couch, and stains on nearly every bed and throughout the carpets. The beds clearly weren't cleaned properly. That was only part of it. This place was truly nasty. Save your money, you can find somewhere cheaper and much nicer.
The biggest drawback was how some of the locals treated us. We were respectful, but got comments and looks at the beach pavilion and pool that made us feel like we didn't belong. We understand this is their home, so be prepared for that. There were good things too: the condo was in good shape, had everything we needed, and the bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice. It's half a mile from the beach, and there's private beach access a mile away with parking very close by.
The screened porch at the back looked out over a marsh or pond, with wildlife hanging around, and the beach was an easy walk. The condo itself was about what you'd expect for the price, nothing fancy but not bad. The outdoor pool was okay. We got blisters from the hot tub, which seemed either too hot or overtreated with chemicals. The indoor pool wasn't much to write home about, though with the beach nearby, who needs it? Roaches are common across the South, and Dunes Pointe had them too.
