The location was perfect, the rooms were great, and I loved the mirrors and beautiful bathrooms. The pool was open, clean, and quiet. Check-in was easy, the woman there was sweet and helped me get the Wi-Fi working. At checkout, the woman greeted me with a smile, and we had a nice chat about my shirt. There wasn’t trash in the room except in the bathroom, which I found odd. The noise is the reason I wouldn’t stay again. Doors slammed all night, and people were yelling and running around outside. I watched a group of teen boys hollering and running back and forth from my car. On the first night, police and an ambulance came because the intoxicated young men staying below us were bothering them and asking if someone had died. Later, that group had a truck full of people in the parking lot, shouting and playing loud music. It was too much, especially with babies staying there. My own kids are older, but I’d be surprised if the babies got any sleep. We left early that morning to get home and catch up on some much-needed rest.

Being about a two-minute walk from the boardwalk was a huge plus, and we hardly needed the car during the trip. The staff were friendly, I felt safe, and the room’s upgrades, soft bed, and comfortable pillows made for a good night’s sleep. The rest of the room, including the bathroom, was clean. Parking is free with a pass, though the spaces feel tight when the hotel is full. Check-in was easy, and the front desk woman was kind. There’s a $100 deposit, so come prepared. Under the bed was a different story. It hadn’t been swept, and I found socks, mini lotions, dust, random trash, and two dead roaches. There was also a long black hair under the zip-up mattress protector, and I can’t figure out how it got there. The window setup bothered me too: it has a blackout screen but no sheer curtain or blinds. With the curtain open, people can see right into the room; with it closed, it’s completely dark. Sheer curtains would let in daylight while giving guests privacy. The office was hard to spot, and I walked past it. A clear sign saying “Office” would help. Wi-Fi was very weird: you connect through the TV, but then you’re stuck with Roku live TV rather than using it like a normal smart TV. The room has a nice hotel feel, while the exterior looks more like a motel. Updating the outside would bring it in line with the interior. It was a good stay overall, but the dirt and bugs under the bed mean I probably wouldn’t return. If you want an affordable spot close to the beach and don’t mind the motel-style exterior, it gets the job done.

I play music around Myrtle Beach often and booked here because it was close to my venue. The strong reviews helped me choose it, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got into the room. It was clean and had hardwood floors, black-and-white decor, a comfortable bed, plenty of bathroom space, a large push-button commode, and a roomy shower with a big showerhead. It had everything I needed, and the price was a bargain compared with nearby options. I stumbled onto a little gem, and I’ve found my new home away from home.

My experience was atrocious. The remodel looked cheaply done, the beds were low to the floor, and I saw critters and crawlers around. The walls were paper thin, the doors seemed almost open even when shut, and I was unimpressed that there wasn’t an ice machine. I found the hotel on Expedia. After hurting myself at the beach, I accidentally got blood on a sheet while I was sleeping. They kept my deposit to replace that one sheet. It wasn’t ripped or deliberately damaged, and I don’t believe the sheet cost what they kept. It felt like an excuse to hold onto the money, and I found it completely unacceptable.

The staff were wonderful to work with, and the bathroom was especially nice and clean. My wife and I came here after being placed at the Day's Inn by Windham, where the ceiling above our tub was falling in and leaking water. We ended up with a great stay and saved $300 by switching hotels. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks, Fifth and Ocean.
