Oceanview condo Steps to the beach

The balcony view was beautiful, but the tub drain wouldn't seal, so taking a bath wasn't possible. There was a loud dog next door. They said they couldn't control that because some condos are privately owned and not rented by them. There was no one on site or at a front desk, and we hadn't been given the code to use the elevator. I wouldn't rent here again.

We stayed longer than expected and the price was hard to beat. The place was nicer than I'd expected, and our room was clean with an ocean view from the balcony. There are elevators down to ground level, and the parking deck is across the street. Entry uses a code, so there's no need to keep track of keys. The pool and indoor and outdoor hot tubs were nice, and the best places to eat are within walking distance.

The room was clean, the floor had been updated without moldy carpet, and there was a nice TV in the bedroom. I liked the very firm bed, though others have complained about it, and there was an ocean view. For the price, I expected a much nicer room. It badly needs updating and didn't look like the photos. I'm reaching a little to say it's one of the nicer places I've stayed here, which is kind of sad. Hotels.com advertised it as a “luxury suite.” My two-night price started at $380 and ended up nearly $500 after the fees and hospitality charges. A maid-service fee was tucked into the fine print, but there's no service during your stay, and extra towels and toiletries cost more. They clean only after you leave, to prepare for the next guest. There's no front desk either, and customer service comes through an overseas phone service.

The messages from Hosteeva come across as condescending, as if they're aimed at delinquent customers, and the marketing claims feel exaggerated. Most of the experience is automated, with very little human contact, so the hospitality feels cold. There are better options if you want a more welcoming stay.
