Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach Broadway at the Beach

The staff at this location were amazing, kind, customer focused and clearly committed to the brand. The rooms, though, were awful. There were rotted, exposed shower pans with incomplete caulk over what needed professional repair. Paint had been put over the tile, like a landlord special, and in places it was peeling off in sheets. Even where it held, the painted tile looked disgusting and the original tile would have been better. It felt completely off brand for Hilton. There were lots of furniture stains, TVs with bad pictures and an overall unclean feel. I’ve had cleaner, better maintained stays at a Quality Inn, and that’s saying a lot. Hilton should be ashamed of this property. It needs a full gut remodel, like Hampton Inn Charleston/west Ashely. If Hilton considers this on brand, I and plenty of others will find another brand.

I stayed in suite room 102, and barely slept, maybe 15 minutes the whole stay. The exit/entry door down the hall from the suite slammed every time it shut. When I told the front desk, they just said sorry. The king bed had tiny pillows, and when I texted to ask if that was normal, they said they use the same size for every bed. They didn’t offer extra pillows or any other fix. This hotel isn’t worth the price if you want good customer service or a decent night’s sleep.

I enjoy staying here every time, but Ian at the front desk made tonight my best visit yet. The booking agency hadn’t provided details like the room type, so Ian took it upon himself to put us in the most amazing room I’ve ever stayed in here. Thanks for taking care of us, Ian. You’re the best part of this hotel.

The location was convenient, but that was the only good thing. We stayed one night as part of our honeymoon, and seconds after we got inside to check in, someone tried to break into my car. The guy checking us in said, “well, there is a first for everything.” The rooms were dirty and the walls were thin. At checkout I told the front desk I’d left the keys in the room, and the woman didn’t even look up, just said, “have a good day.” Terrible customer service.
