The resort itself was enjoyable, but the presentation screening has left us unsure about returning in 2027. My daughter and I drove about 15 hours from Canada for a local softball event, while my parents were already traveling in the southern United States. They arrived a day earlier, so the reservation was in their name. At check-in, they were invited to a presentation about a possible purchase and offered a $300 gift for attending. They had recently sold their home in Florida and travel more now, so they thought it might be worth considering. During the presentation, they were asked if their income was over $50,000 USD. With currency conversion, theirs is about $35,000 USD, and the discussion ended abruptly once they gave that answer. They’re retired and work part-time by choice, not necessity. Nobody asked about their savings, investments, or overall financial position. Income alone seems like a poor measure of someone’s ability to afford a purchase. My parents have substantial savings and could easily afford a timeshare if they wanted one. This isn’t about the $300 incentive; it’s about the screening and how it was handled. I hope the process can be more respectful and thorough. We genuinely enjoyed the resort, but this experience affected my confidence. I’ve long been loyal to the Holiday Inn brand, and now we’re reconsidering our planned return in 2027.

A great spot for a family trip, even during bike week. We were right on the beach with an ocean-view room, and the pool was warm and inviting. Our daughters, ages 8 and 2, loved it. The little one was all over the room 😂😂😂

We’ve had a wonderful time here so far, though the afternoon of Feb. 3rd was a bit of a mixed bag. I turned on the oven in our signature suite to cook, before putting anything in it, and opening it set off the smoke alarm. It took nearly 30 minutes for someone to reach the sixth floor and check that everything was okay. It was. This seems like a design flaw: the detector is on the ceiling right where rising oven heat goes. With this style of detector, it should be mounted on the wall. It’s a new building, so I guess they haven’t discovered all the flaws yet.

It still feels like a new property, and the rooms and grounds are well cared for. The pool was heated just right, and getting to the beach was easy. We did hear helicopters and planes from the nearby airport, but it didn’t spoil things for us. A wonderful beachfront place in Myrtle beach, especially if you’re after a newer, smaller property. Highly recommend.
