I spent a week at Margate Tower and had a blast. The water park was so much fun, and I loved the beach, pool, and everything nearby. I also enjoyed the calming nature around the place, a pretty bridge I crossed, and the sun looked really cool.

The room lights didn’t work, so I had to use an old lamp. Staff were rude and said I was underage. People were jerking around in the hot tubs with CHILDREN in there. ALEX says he has his own rule book and wouldn’t let us play volleyball or dribble in the hall. Terrible service, hostile workers. WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Margate is privately owned, residential, and located on Kingston Plantation. It isn’t a hotel. Some owners rent out their condos, while others live there full-time or use them as second homes. Pets are allowed only for owners, so renters who bring one will be turned away. The HOA has a representative at the lobby desk around the clock. That person doesn’t work for a rental agency, including Embassy Suites, and can’t resolve problems in your condo. For repairs, contact the agency you rented through. The lobby attendants are great and can suggest places to eat when they’re not busy. Try the Black Drum! The HOA board sets the building rules, and both renters and owners are expected to follow them. As full-time residents, we appreciate visitors who respect the property and its rules. We think Margate is one of the nicest buildings on the beach and hope visitors help keep it that way. A few facts: it’s the tallest building on the SC coast and the state’s tallest residential building. There are nine floor plans, six with direct oceanfront views, and sizes run from about 1,800 heated square feet to just under 3,000.

The staff were helpful, and the hotel room was very nice. I’d happily come back again and again. Thanks, Hilton.

In room 801, the biggest downside was the internet. Download was 2.8 mb/s and upload only .2 mb/s, which is abysmal. The condo itself was huge and nicely furnished, with walk-in closets, bathrooms with tubs and showers, and a large wraparound deck overlooking the ocean. The ocean views are beautiful, and the service was good.
