Studio 6 Extended Stay - Myrtle Beach, SC

We spent a week at Motel 6 with our two puppies, and it was a great stay for my family. The rooms were clean and nice, the beds were very comfortable, and we especially liked the morning coffee. The beach wasn’t far away. Christian and Lynn at the front desk went above and beyond whenever we needed help. They made us feel safe and welcome, and we plan to return next year.

The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We liked being able to eat in the room instead of spending money dining out every night. It was quiet, and everyone at Motel 6 made us feel welcome. When we checked in on Halloween weekend, Mrs Lynn and Christian got us settled and explained that we could come to the front desk anytime if we needed help. They were very polite and glad to assist. We’ll be back soon. Thanks again.

We’re homeless right now, and this room was affordable for me, my two kids, my mom, and my stepdad. We had a double room with two beds, one for my parents and one for me and the children, who are 3 and 8. We were told the room could only have four people, so the five of us were allowed to stay just one night. Then the manager rudely told us we had to leave. Mrs. Christine was very sweet and said she wished she could let us stay, but it wasn’t her decision. I’ve never had hotel staff kick me and my family out when we just needed somewhere to lay our heads. I wish I could give negative stars.

I chose this location partly because I’d never been to Myrtle Beach and was vacationing here, and partly because I’d read that the other Motel 6 in Georgetown SC had a bug problem. I got a good online deal, under $60 a night. From outside, the building looked outstanding, and my room surprised me with a sink and a two-burner electric cooktop built into the counter. I booked it so my new dog and I could watch The Dick Clark's rockin Eve ball drop together, his first New Year’s. I was enjoying the room and the holiday until I took my dog out for another night walk and saw him head toward the mini-fridge. A roach ran behind it. I grabbed my main belongings, including my radio, and took them to my vehicle because I didn’t want to risk them getting contaminated. The more I think about it, the sicker it makes me feel. Aside from the roach, the room was comfortable and the heat and air conditioning worked well. I’m not sure if I’ll return.
