Southern Breeze

The bed was moist, and they expected us to keep the door closed in our oceanfront room because of condensation. That's ridiculous for a beach room. They don't accommodate requests or respond to messages, and the hostess was combative and pure evil. I also saw them try to charge a woman twice for hotel fees, claiming she hadn't paid online. She had to show proof on her phone before they believed her. Customer service was even worse than the room. Never stay here.

We eventually got the stove that was supposed to be in the room, but not until the next day. Having a stove was one of the main reasons we booked Southern Breeze Motel in Myrtle Beach, so the missing one was a real problem. When we told the staff, the man didn't seem concerned. He kept offering a refund and saying he could put the room back on Booking for someone else, even though he knew there were no vacancies. It felt dismissive and unhelpful. The roaches were worse. We couldn't leave food out, and when we opened a pizza box, there were roaches inside like they were having a party. It made the stay very uncomfortable. Between the missing promised amenity, poor service, and cleanliness problems, I wouldn't stay here again.

The reception staff are outstanding from morning through the day, and the kitchenette rooms are amazing. You can rent pots and pans or bring your own. It's a good environment, not far from the center by the FarrisWheel, and the beach views are lovely. I'd highly recommend it for an affordable stay.

The room had no hot water at all, and the balcony was damaged, with broken tiles and a sliding door that barely opened or closed. The motel is beside a public beach entrance, so people and kids were walking and being loud beside our room all night. It wasn't somewhere to relax. We booked an oceanfront room for a two-night weekend for my husband and me. From the parking lot it looked rundown, and inside it was even dirtier and smelled musty. They put us on the first floor across from the office, where we couldn't see the ocean. When we pointed out that it was the wrong room, they insisted it was correct and wouldn't give us the one we'd booked. There was no microwave, no little bottles of shampoo or conditioner, no soap, and only one tiny roll of toilet paper that was almost gone. The website said parking was free, but they charged us per day. We stayed because we had no choice. Three other guests checked in during our stay and were given the wrong rooms too; we could hear them arguing across from the office. I gave the location one star because of the nighttime noise. I've stayed at Holiday sands for the same number of days and around the same price. It's very clean and has an indoor pool, jacuzzi, lazy river, and outdoor pool, all very clean. This was a terrible experience. I'll never stay here again, even if it were the last motel on the beach. Please do your research; it isn't a deal.
