Windsurfer Hotel

The rooms were gross, with cockroaches and old liquor left in the freezer by previous guests. With cleaner rooms, this could have been a great place. The location is very nice, just a two-minute walk from the beach, and there’s a heated pool and hot tub. It’s right next to a pier.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options were easy to find nearby, and the ocean views from this beachside property were lovely. My husband and I only stayed one night, but check-in was quick, the staff were warm, and our clean, roomy room had a really comfortable bed. We had a wonderful time and would come back.

The room felt extremely unsanitary. There was no toilet seat cover, so you had to wipe the toilet before sitting, and the floors were dirty and unmopped. Towels, furniture, and the tub were stained; tiles and mirrors were broken. The sliding door had no lock, the entry door had no security latch, and both the lamp and phone were out of order. The pool, walkways, and elevator were grimy too. Someone entered my room without permission, then apologized and said they had the wrong room. I also overheard the cleaning crew say they only make the beds and straighten up, which explains a lot. There are no ice machines on the floors. I won't be back.

The room wasn't clean: black spots on the sheets and bed skirt, and dirt and dark particles all over the floor. I couldn't tell whether the toilet was dirty or just stained. When I reported the floor to the receptionist, he brushed me off, told me to contact booking.com, and wished me a miserable day. He didn't apologize or seem interested in hearing about the problem. My son took one look and said we couldn't stay there. A paying guest should get a clean room and better service. Don't stay here.
