The Green Tree Hotel

Nothing fancy, and there aren't amenities in the rooms, but the shared space is clean and has a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker with all the fixings. The rooms and attached restaurant were clean too, and the beds were really comfortable. Staff were very polite, and it was quiet. We stayed three nights for a good price.

The only thing I can point to is the community fridge and microwave. For check-in, we had to call and wait 10-15 minutes for someone to meet us. On Sunday morning, there wasn't anyone around for checkout. We waited 3-4 hours at the coffee shop across the street before someone finally came. The “boss” never answered despite around 30 calls between us, and our iMessages got no reply either. The worker tried calling five times too, with no luck. Worst experience ever.

The room was dated, and without a bathroom fan it smelled bad and may have had mold. Management was terrible: the manager acted unprofessionally and disrespectfully. The place says it's pet friendly, but nobody mentioned the extra fees before we arrived, and the terms aren't on the website. We were charged for two Emotional Support dogs even though we had paperwork. The extra charge came to $150, with no receipt or itemized explanation.

The heater remote had dead batteries, and I couldn't reach anyone to get replacements. The TV was awful, with no channels. I really wanted the stay to be good, but... The downstairs restaurant was a bright spot: good food and excellent service. The place has also been remodeled nicely. Guess I'll sort this into goods and others, like back in my Navy days.
