The Whaler's Inn

When my son had a seizure during our visit and became unsettled, I decided to check out early so we wouldn’t disturb the other guests. I understood that the no-refund policy would apply, but the staff compassionately refunded the room without my even asking. That kindness meant a lot to us, and I’m deeply grateful. We’ll certainly return. Our stay at The Whaler’s Inn had been wonderful: the staff were welcoming, the location was perfect, the room was very comfortable, and everything was spotless. The way they handled this situation showed how much they care about their guests.

I’d admired Whaler's Inn from outside for years as a Mystic local photographer, then got to stay overnight when the newly renovated Stanton House opened. It exceeded my expectations. My second-floor standard king room was simple, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, one of the best rooms I’ve stayed in despite having traveled extensively. Ask for a South-facing room if you want views of Cottrell St and Mystic River Park. The Stanton House itself is stunning. Downtown Mystic is an unbeatable location, and the private parking lot is a huge plus. With 24/7 surveillance and keycard access, I felt completely safe traveling solo. The air jet tub was a highlight, and guests also get complimentary snacks and drinks. If you get the chance to eat at Shipwright's Daughter, go for it. The ambiance is gorgeous, the food is outstanding, gluten free options are available, and the dessert alone is worth the trip. The hype is real. Whaler's Inn delivers, and it’s more than Instagram-worthy.

Ariana was warm and kind at check-in, and she was so accommodating. Madeline’s handwritten note waiting in the room was a lovely extra touch. They clearly care about the guest experience. The cookies at check-in are delicious, so don’t skip them! We had a fantastic stay at The Whaler’s Inn. Our room was clean and cozy, the bed was amazing, the amenities were lovely, and the restaurant food was superb.
