The Wauwinet

Coming back to the room after a day out was a treat. It was immaculate, with daily service and turn-down done right on time. After turn-down, historic post cards on the bed were a thoughtful touch that made me look forward to freshening up for dinner or unwinding. The secluded property felt like a quiet oasis amid raw natural beauty, and the shuttle was always on time despite the distance from downtown. Even the drive into town is gorgeous. From the bellman who greeted me and took my bags to the friendly, smiling welcome at reception, everything ran smoothly. Check-in was prompt and easy, with a glass of sparkling wine at the end. Patrice the concierge was a highlight, always smiling, anticipating my needs, and greeting me by name whenever I passed through the lobby. Returning from a day of adventure to a familiar friendly face was lovely. The front desk, servers, shuttle drivers, and everyone else made me feel at home, as if I were the only guest. For a mix of adventure, relaxation, and flawless service, the Wauwinet is the place. I can’t imagine being disappointed.

My brother got married at this very nice resort on Saturday, and he had reserved it. The staff were friendly, the food was very good, and shuttles took us into town and back. I had a great time.

The week at the Wauwinet is a perfect fall getaway for switching off the phone and reading, especially on the Zen Deck. The location is a “10,” with amazing sunrises and sunsets. Each year the team puts on a pumpkin carving contest, and some of the carvings are really imaginative. We also appreciate the small touches, like hot cider in the middle of the day and afternoon cheese and crackers. Breakfast at Toppers each day and the service were outstanding and enjoyable. The team always welcomes us warmly when we arrive and throughout our stay. In the fall, the Wauwinet consistently gives us a relaxing, low-key, peaceful visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you for another remarkable stay! :)

Fantastic staff and service made this a perfect NE vacation. The setting is beautiful, right by the bay and ocean beach, and we’ll be back more than once. It would help to have flags, buttons, or text options to call for service on the lawn beach. The shuttle connection with steamship could also be a bit easier.
