Best Western Elm House Inn

For this price, it’s the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at, and it beats others in a similar range by a lot. The room was quaint and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were surprisingly good. Pillows at hotels around this price are often terrible. I didn’t get to use many of the amenities, but the little bit of breakfast I tried was good. My one breakfast gripe: I’d prefer freshly brewed coffee and real cream. The staff were friendly, and the late check-in instructions were seamless, which was great. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Napa.

We shared the Queen Annex for two nights while celebrating a birthday, and it had plenty of space and everything we needed. Being able to walk easily to downtown shops and restaurants was perfect. Breakfast was much appreciated: cheese omelets, croissants, fresh fruit, sausage, coffee, tea, and juices. Everyone working at Elm House Inn was friendly and helpful. My sisters and I can’t wait to come back.

My adult daughter and I had a great girls’ getaway. Our annex room was clean and roomy, with comfortable beds and pillows, two sinks, and a big closet area. Breakfast was warm, and the staff were friendly. We visited several wineries, all within a 10-30 minute drive, and took a four-minute Uber into downtown Napa for dinner. The front desk lent us an umbrella on a rainy morning, and we enjoyed the hot tub on two nights. The backyard was peaceful. We were mostly there early in the morning and later in the evening, but we’d recommend staying.

The main room was just okay, but the bathroom was a mess: dated, covered in ants, and fitted with a broken 1980s Jacuzzi tub and motel-style plastic countertops. At night there was a lot of noise, both from some kind of machine outside our window facing the parking lot and from upstairs guests walking around at all hours. The TV channels worked only sometimes. Breakfast was mediocre, though the K-cup selection was good. The photos gave us a very different impression. Staff were nice enough when they were around, but the front desk was almost always empty. This was easily the low point of our trip, and we felt ripped off.
