Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa

The heated pool was nice, though there isn’t a hot tub. The room price is only the start, so expect other charges during your stay. The location was excellent, and the employees were friendly with impeccable service.

The air-conditioning in our okay room would suddenly get loud, which made sleeping difficult. Housekeeping also didn’t clean it very well. There are plenty of stores nearby if you need to pick anything up, and I liked spending time by the fire pit. The bar had a good range of drinks and food, though the M Club food was hit or miss.

The wine hour put me off drinking wine. The guy serving it seemed sulky and as if he was just going through the motions, which felt especially disappointing in Napa, where people come for wine. The place looks pretty and clean from outside, but the hotel and staff lacked basic warmth and hospitality, and there didn’t seem to be enough staff. I was there around December 18-20, 2025, in rainy, bad weather, and couldn’t believe the hotel had no umbrellas. They also don’t serve a breakfast buffet; it’s optional, costs extra, and was expensive. I felt relieved to leave. The rain and having no umbrella were stressful when I didn’t know the area. When I got back to Marriott SFO, they had umbrellas. I wouldn’t return, even as a Bonvoy member.

I’m done trying to get the $600 billing error fixed. I called about six times over two weeks and was repeatedly told someone from accounting would call back. I eventually left a voicemail directly for the head of accounting with all the information needed to correct it. More than 48 hours later, still no call. The lobby is nicely appointed, but the rest of the stay wasn’t pleasant. The rooms were mediocre and dingy, and the bar and restaurant cost too much for the quality. If you want Napa prices for Stockton quality and don’t mind being hit with another $600 out of nowhere, this is the place.
