Wine Valley Lodge

The breakfast was just okay, with a limited selection, though I still ate plenty. Everything else was good. We stayed one night as a family, and our room was really spacious: a main room, an oversized bathroom, and a smaller room with the second bed. There were four nightstands altogether, and the rooms were very nice. The woman at the front desk knew a lot about things to do nearby.

This little mom and pop motel was a pleasant surprise. It looks much better in person than in the photos, and I was pleased with the well-kept, attractive grounds, clean rooms, and a price lower than many other Napa options. My one suggestion is to replace the old bedspreads with washable duvets, like places are doing now. Those bedspreads are past their time.

We only stayed one night, mainly to have a place to sleep. Though the adobe brick exterior looks a bit old, inside was a different story. The facility is excellent and sits in a residential area within walking distance of a commercial complex. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were proper hotel quality, and there was a flat screen TV. The room was a typical size for a two star hotel, with plenty of room for luggage and other things. It had a handy mini fridge and a microwave hidden in the cabinet below the TV. The bathroom was clean, with an updated sink and convenient walk-in shower. Hot water came through about five seconds after turning it on. It seems the hotel cares about guest convenience and keeps rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it. I do wish there were a coffee maker in the room, instead of having to go to the food area for coffee, which is only available in the morning.

Check-in was easy, and the staff were pleasant to deal with. There’s a CVS Pharmacy and a food and liquor store just a few steps away, though we didn’t walk into the town center. The motel has plenty of history, and the renovation kept much of its nostalgic architecture. Our clean, comfortable room looked out toward the courtyard and pool, and the grounds were neatly manicured. We also had a big HDTV with lots of Dish Network channels and a free continental breakfast. I’d happily stay here again when we’re in the area.
