Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Chicago Naperville

The building hasn’t had a recent update, but the staff more than make up for that. They’re friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with requests. They make a point of greeting you by name when you come and go, and they provide breakfast. The hotel is also near restaurants, shops, and other entertainment, which makes getting around the area easy.

The bed was comfortable, the staff were nice, and the coffee was good. But the room had some damage and a faint musty smell, and the carpet needs replacing. There were stains on the wall in the breakfast area too. It needs updating, and wasn’t what I expect from Marriott. Make those improvements and it could get back to five stars.

The breakfast was very good, and the front desk staff were friendly. But we couldn’t adjust the room temperature because the thermostat was locked. Most of the parking lot lights also weren’t working, which made the lot feel unsafe. The mattresses weren’t what I’d expect from Fairfield.

We missed the Cowboy-Eagles football opener because the TVs weren’t working properly, and it didn’t seem like anyone was in a hurry to fix them. On the first night neither TV worked. The receptionist said he’d called someone, but the next morning’s receptionist knew nothing about it. Later, one TV still didn’t work at all, and the other only got channels outside the major networks. I can’t recommend this hotel.
