Lois, the cook or hostess, was full of smiles and suggestions, and kindly helped me when I was clumsy. Her recommended dinner restaurant was a delight, and the complimentary breakfast was enjoyable. The room renovation work stayed quiet enough for us. Our accessible room’s roll-in shower was old fashioned but fully functional. The king mattress worked for two people with different preferences, and the extra pillow each helped us sleep comfortably, including with my breathing difficulties. The easy remote let us watch both the Olympics and the Super Bowl. If we were shopping for a TV at home, we’d buy that brand for its features. The location was perfect for our needs.

Breakfast was amazing, with waffles, eggs or omelettes, sausage, juices, oatmeal, potatoes, cereal, bananas, and coffee every morning. One morning they also had biscuits and gravy. The room was roomy and very clean. There’s an outdoor pool, which I didn’t use, and a small but nice, clean gym with treadmills, an elliptical, and some free weights.

The accommodations were better than I expected, and the staff made this place stand out even more. Everyone, from the front desk to the service staff, was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast is free, and noon checkout was a welcome change since there was no rush to get out. I’d recommend it to anyone. If the hotel were right on the beach, I’d give it a 10.

I’ve stayed at several Hampton Inn locations, and this one fell short. There was only half a roll of bathroom tissue and literally three tissues in the box. As a lifetime Diamond member, I wasn’t offered water or snacks. At check-in, the person at the desk seemed bothered by having to look up my information. Not the best experience.
