Motel 6 Nashville, TN - Airport

The room was warm, very clean, and problem-free, and booking it was easy. I was in Nashville because of the recent ice storm and stayed for two nights. They let me bring both of my dogs at no extra cost, and I was very pleased with the stay.

The room was reasonably clean and the cable worked well, but we could hear a large dog barking constantly through the connecting door to the next room. When I asked for the manager the following day and explained the problem, she just said, “Oh well, we’re pet friendly.” I asked to move rooms, and she said she would do it the next day. She was completely incompetent, and no professional business person should behave that way. People were also stomping on the stairs outside our room. My wife and I will never stay here again. It was such a bad experience that I recorded it and am putting the recording on YouTube.

The staff were super nice, including when they called around 2:30 that afternoon to tell me I’d left my driver’s license behind. I turned around during my travels and went back for it, and they were kind about that too. But the hotel itself was nasty in my opinion. The other guests weren’t nice, and the rooms were disgusting. I couldn’t bring myself to get into the bed and tried sleeping on the little corner table instead, which didn’t work. At 3 in the morning the roaches came out, and I freaked out, packed up, and left in a hurry. I’ve stayed in some questionable places, but this one was dirty.

I only wanted a comfortable place to rest, with a clean, working room that matched what was advertised. The stay fell short: poor upkeep, limited amenities, and little customer care made this the least hospitable place I’ve stayed. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, reliability, or value, and I’ll think twice before booking another Motel 6. The Motel 6 at the Nashville Airport was promoted as newly renovated, but it didn’t feel that way. The main light above the mirror was broken, leaving just one dim light in the far corner. The room felt unwelcoming, with countless cigarette burns on the pillow covers and worn furniture. Housekeeping knocked at 8:30 one morning, then again at 8:45, but apparently didn’t come back that day. When I returned, the bed was unmade and the trash was full. One washer and dryer cycle cost $6, and no soap was provided, so the laundry was inconvenient and impractical. Towels were handed out sparingly, and staff were reluctant when I asked for more. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but I did expect the basic standards the listing promised.
