Motto by Hilton Nashville Downtown

The compact room was quiet, extremely clean, and well designed. The shower had great water pressure, and I liked having Sirius XM and the Calm app on the TV. It was easy to get a break from the crowds here. Broadway is a quick walk away, and the bright, beautiful lobby is a nice place to relax outside the room. There’s even a coffee bar. The staff were the standout, from check-in to the cleaning team in the halls. Jonathan and Emma at the front desk were lovely, personable, helpful, and went above and beyond. Great conversationalists too. This brand-new hotel is a 10/10. A note for women traveling solo: it felt very safe and secure.

The location is the real gem. We parked when we arrived on Friday and didn’t touch the car again until it was time to head home. Broadway’s bars and restaurants are a couple of blocks away, Bridgestone Arena and Ryman Auditorium are just a few minutes’ walk, and Gibson Garage is about half a mile away. The rooms are cozy and have everything you need. There’s a restaurant on the first floor with plenty of options, and we ate breakfast there a few times. All the staff were wonderful and friendly throughout the weekend. It’s too bad I can only give this place five stars, because they deserve more. Thanks to everyone for making us feel welcome.

The location gets a 10/10, but the hotel’s grand opening happened while basic functions still seemed to be in beta. We spent two nights with no hot water at all, refreshing if you’re training for polar plunge season. The room phones didn’t work, so any question meant a trip to the front desk and a bit of cardio. They held the opening while the hotel didn’t seem ready emotionally, physically, or operationally. Bold concept. It needs a dose of reality. You’re not ready.

We arrived early for our two-night stay at the Motto during the FCS National Championship, and the amazing staff got us into a room before check-in time. They went above and beyond throughout the visit and made our Nashville experience memorable. After enjoying downtown, the quick walk back to Broadway gave us some peace and quiet. We’re looking forward to our next Nashville visit and will definitely book the Motto again.
