The staff handled things patiently and efficiently, and the price was reasonable. But it took three room changes before we found one that was clean and didn't have a strong mold smell. One room they showed us had a very dirty bathtub, and things only became satisfactory after we were upgraded.
We checked into a non-smoking room that clearly had been smoked in. Looking under the bed, we found bedbugs, dirt, and badly stained sheets. Read the reviews first. Thankfully, we didn't stay in the room.
After a nine-hour drive from Michigan, I was angry with myself for not doing my research. The first room was disgusting, and the second was even worse. I got a full refund, and they won't have to worry about seeing me again. I can't even recommend this as a place to stay. I'd rather sleep out on the street than in that filthy place.
My room was clean, and everyone on staff was accommodating. Mimi at the front desk and Vince and his wife in housekeeping were great. Special thanks to Zantae at the front desk for going way beyond what was needed to help with a reservation. Her professionalism and customer service really impressed me, and she could have a future in hotel management if she wants one. I had an awesome stay at Red Roof and would recommend it to anyone.
The rooms smelled awful, and the front desk guys were rude. Whenever I asked about rates or amenities, they acted annoyed. I wouldn't recommend this place.
