Residence Inn by Marriott Nashville Airport

We stood at the desk for about 25 minutes before the attendant came back with our key, and there was a sign greeting us when we arrived to check in. The property felt very dated and had an odd smell as soon as we walked in. Easily the worst Marriott I’ve stayed at.

The staff member's reaction after dinner was the part that really upset me. I went for a walk around the hotel for exercise and was suddenly yelled at to go back to my room. They said guests weren't allowed around the premises after 10 p.m. because of a hotel rule. In more than 30 years of staying in hotels around the world, I've never run into that, especially in the United States. If it was about guest safety, they could have explained it politely. Instead I was spoken to like a student being scolded by a dorm supervisor. I found it extremely disrespectful, and I can't recommend the hotel. There's a strict curfew after 10 p.m.; I'd pay a little more to stay somewhere that treats guests respectfully and provides proper service. The room itself was only average for the price, but cleanliness was a serious problem. When I opened the sofa bed, the mattress had mold on it. I had no choice but to put a cover over it and sleep on it, which was awful. The main bed was old and uncomfortable too, though I could have put up with that for the price. I don't usually write hotel reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt I had to share it.

Really nice place, and easy to get to. I spotted two long, many-legged bugs in the sinks. I wish I'd taken a photo because I don't know what they're called. Still, it was a great place to stay.

I came back for Fall Break after staying here about 15 years ago, when everything was clean and the front desk staff was excellent. I've been a Marriott Member for over 25 years, but this visit was a huge letdown. There were spider webs, roaches, and trash around the hotel. It has potential, but it needs a major upgrade and, basically, a thorough cleaning. It shouldn't carry the Marriott name in this state. I won't be back, and it's coming off my list. Sorry for the bad review, but this is unacceptable for Marriott.
