Super 8 by Wyndham Antioch/Nashville South East

It was bitterly cold during the winter storm, and all the hotels nearby were full. This was the only place where we could find an available room. I’d assumed the cleanliness would be poor, since hotels of this type haven’t usually been known for that in my experience, but the room was good, warm, clean, and recently renovated. The bathroom and toilet were clean as well, and the beds were comfortable. We stayed two nights, and I don’t regret choosing it. I just hoped for warmth, and got it. I hope the next time we check in, our expectations will be met just as comfortably.

The entrance to the hotel wasn’t designed very well, but inside it was nice and remodeled. They have cereal and coffee, though that’s not a big deal since most people don’t eat breakfast anyway. Having the Mexican restaurant right next door is convenient.

For $45-55, I think you can get good value here. If that doesn’t feel like enough, Walmart sells tents, lol. The rooms are clean, fine for a shower and some rest before getting back to business, and the furnishings have been up to date in the roughly 10 rooms I’ve stayed in. The location is pretty central to Nashville’s commerce, which is perfect if you freelance here. The staff are genuinely good: professional, but they make me feel like a guest more than a customer. I give it five stars across the board because there isn’t much else to compare it with in this city, and it’s consistently the cheapest or within a couple of dollars. Perspective matters, though. If you’re a tourist on a luxury vacation and concerned about your social life, Nashville has several hotels that will cover you in style. Just bring your credit card for the stay and cash for tips, since the white gloves are expecting it. Otherwise, try other places at this price and decide for yourself. Good luck.

The room was surprisingly nice for its current star rating, and I especially appreciated how clean the bathroom was. The front desk guy was very polite, helpful, and patient while sorting out my reservations. I really appreciated the stay at Super 8 Antioch/Nashville.
