Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake

The staff really made a difference, and the bar and restaurant food and drinks were good. The room overlooking the lake had a stunning view, and the rooms were clean. But the property feels worn and needs attention. The photos on the Hilton website seem old or heavily filtered. Several things in my room didn’t work well: the safe and hairdryer were broken, the air conditioning was very loud, the sink tap had no hot water even though the shower was perfect, and the bathroom light worked on and off. Furniture was scuffed and scratched. The bar and restaurant area had the same tired feel, and could use some TLC. It’s a good spot for one night while visiting NASA, but the hotel has seen better days. Thanks to the team for making up for so much of it.

For the price, this was a real bargain. The room was quiet and well arranged, and felt more expensive than it was. Service was efficient from beginning to end, and the atmosphere stayed calm and understated. A polished stay without a high price tag.

The staff were great, but the room felt run down and the building needs work for what it costs. It was hot even with the curtains closed and the AC running. The old furniture was falling apart, and the fridge cabinet door was broken and wouldn’t stay shut. The beds were too small. Downstairs, the restaurant charged $25 per person for food that other hotels offer free. Parking was another $9 a day. I’ll look elsewhere next time.

The lobby looked nice and smelled great, and checking in was easy. But once we got to the guest floors, there was a noticeable damp carpet and mildew smell. The property clearly needs remodeling. Our room was usable, though worn: there was a small hole in the bathroom door, no closet door, mildew around the tub, and very worn sheets. The beds seemed old and weren’t especially comfortable. We used the pool, which was fine for the kids, but it could use a deep clean. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on it. Getting fresh towels was one of our main frustrations. We asked several times and got very little service. That surprised us because we usually stay at Hilton properties and have had good experiences. If you expect a typical Hilton stay, I’d look at nearby hotels. If an older place is okay and you just need somewhere near NASA to sleep, this will probably do. It served its purpose for our trip, but I wouldn’t stay again. There are enough upkeep and service problems that I’d choose somewhere else next time.
