We’ve been back to DEVEREAUX-SHIELDS HOUSE five or six times, and every visit has topped the last. Ron and Eleanor Fry are the kind of hosts the whole bed and breakfast business should look to. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with everything thoughtfully arranged, and the bathrooms are spacious and spa-like. That heated floor is perfect on a cold winter day. Breakfast is always delicious, and it’s nice meeting the other guests. The blueberry pancakes were wonderful, but Eleanor’s Peach French Toast Cup was even better. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Our best to the whole staff until next time.

Ron and Eleanor helped my husband plan a wonderful surprise trip to Natchez for our 33rd wedding anniversary. They even arranged massages on the property for us, which were incredible and which I highly recommend. From champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries to great conversations with new friends, the whole experience was amazing. Ms. Eleanor’s food was delicious, and she was always attentive and accommodating. We had such a special weekend, and I can’t praise them enough. Five stars don’t feel like enough. We can’t wait to return!

Coffee on the front porch was such a nice bonus, and breakfast was the real highlight: fantastic baked French toast, an egg bundle, and sausage. We stayed in the Alice room, and the beds were so comfortable, with incredibly soft sheets. We had the best night’s sleep. Can’t wait to come back.

The chef’s food was amazing, especially the French toast. My husband and I came to Natchez for some downtime before the hectic New Year, and this place gave us the kind of vacation we wanted. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and we loved that our dog could stay with us in the beautiful historic Elmo room. We spent the evenings playing cards in the dining room, then had coffee on the front porch in the mornings. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome!

The two bedrooms in our Gallery suite gave us extra room and made it feel more like home. My husband says he’ll definitely stay here again. We especially loved relaxing on the balcony, and Charlotte, Georgia, and Becky were so kind and helpful. The chef made delicious breakfasts, and staff kept checking if I wanted more to eat, such lovely service. Fall was a perfect time to visit: we could leave the French doors open for crisp air during the day, then cozy up by the fireplace at night. Very romantic!
