Rodeway Inn National City San Diego South

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to get around. I had what I needed in the room, including a comfortable bed. For the price, it was a good value, and my stay at the Rodeway Inn was comfortable and convenient.

After a long, tiring day, I was surprised by how smooth check-in was at Rodeway Inn National City San Diego. A staff member named Harry helped me through the virtual front desk screen and was polite and friendly. The technology was pretty cool. The room was clean and comfortable, and the AC worked well. Parking was easy, and I could leave my car right in front of my room. There was no microwave in the room, though. You have to go to the laundry area for one, where there are also vending machines, a washer and dryer, and an ice machine. Nice place for the price.

The room had a fresh spider web behind the front door with stuff caught in it. Pieces of laminate flooring were missing, and other parts were raised enough that I tripped. There was no microwave even though the room was supposed to have one, and the TV only showed snow. Our 2 p.m. check-in for three people was delayed because the first-floor room was still being cleaned. We got the key, but the room wasn't ready until 2:25. We also only had two towels. When I asked the check-in lady for a third, she rudely said she was working and that getting a towel wasn't her job. She told me to find the cleaning lady upstairs. That woman sent me to another cleaner on the other side, who argued that only two of us were staying. I pointed out that three people had checked in. After several minutes, I finally got the extra towel. I shouldn't have to walk around asking multiple employees for something a guest needs, and if check-in is at 2, why were rooms still being cleaned? It wasn't busy. They should compensate us or give us a discount for the poor service, late room, and problems in it. I won't stay at a hotel with this name again, and I don't recommend it. I'll make sure my friends and family avoid Rodeway hotels too.

I've been coming here for about 8 years, and they've always treated me fairly, nicely, and with respect. The rooms are clean, and the motel itself is pretty clean too. Peter is an awesome manager. Whenever there's a problem, you can always count on him to sort it out quickly and efficiently.
