Holiday Inn Express New Albany - Louisville NW by IHG

Breakfast was the big surprise. There were so many choices that we went back for seconds and thirds, and it was honestly the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. Tiffany checked us in, and we had a really nice conversation. The staff were kind and accommodating. Our room had nice furniture and felt luxurious for such an affordable price. The location also worked well, close enough to downtown but away from the busiest spots. Everything was great, and I’d recommend it.

The service was great, but this place needs a lot of work before it feels like a normal Holiday Inn. My room was dirty, with nasty stuff stuck to the ceiling, and the privacy blind had been ripped off the window. I had to ask the front desk for duct tape and use it to hold the blind up so the room wasn’t completely exposed. This was the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve stayed at. If you expect the usual Holiday Inn experience or just want a clean, solid place to stay, you’ll be disappointed.

The room was clean, though a few towels were missing and I wondered if housekeeping had rushed. Tiffany sorted that out right away and gave us more. She was also cheerful and welcoming when we arrived, even with a big crowd at the desk, and got everyone checked in smoothly. We’d decided to add a day while passing through, and finding lots of parking was a nice surprise. The morning greeting from Angela was a different story. She seemed in a bad mood and didn’t even say good morning. I’m grateful to Tiffany for the warm welcome, but Angela’s customer service was disappointing.

I’ve traveled for work for over 15 years, and I’ve never had an entire hotel staff make me feel so welcome. Anthony, Kaye, Tammy, Amber and many others took time to greet me and chat, and I felt like I was making friends instead of being stuck in a hotel. The front desk was friendly to my kids too. The rooms were clean and not dated, the fridge worked well, and housekeeping did a good job. Common areas and workout facilities were tidy, and breakfast was hot and fresh. It’s close to downtown Louisville, the Casino and local attractions. If you’re traveling through Southern Indiana, this is a nice place near everything with a great staff. You’ll feel right at home.
