Clarion Pointe New Bern

This was my second stay at Clarion Pointe in New Bern, and we were happy with it overall. The location is great, the room was clean and nice, and the comfortable bed came with plenty of pillows. The AC wasn’t blowing strongly or getting very cold, so the young woman at the front desk brought us a tall tower fan. She was very accommodating. Breakfast was good, though the orange juice dispenser only gave water.

We’d definitely stay again. The hotel was clean and nice, and we had no complaints. Our room was right across from the ice machine, which made me worry at first, but I never heard a thing.

My mom and I came from New Jersey to North Carolina for a funeral, and Alice in our family suggested Clarion Point. We were so glad she did. The hotel was exceptionally clean, especially by our standards, and the staff were nice. The cleaning staff were amazing. We’ll stay here every time we come to North Carolina, and I recommend it to anyone. Five stars. Thanks to everyone, and keep up the good work keeping Clarion Point clean!

We were in New Bern for a wedding and picked Clarion Pointe for its location. I’d read through the hotel reviews and nearly passed on this place, but I’m glad I didn’t assume every angry review told the whole story. The remodeled hotel was spotless, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly. Our room was on the ground floor after the front desk asked if that was okay; they said we could move if it was noisy, since summer construction workers from out of town sometimes get up early. We never heard a sound. The bathroom faucet pressure was weak, perhaps because of a water saver, though the shower was fine. Breakfast is free and light, with bagels, toast, waffles, oatmeal, muffins, fruit, and yogurt, but no eggs, bacon, or sausage. If you want those, there are plenty of places a short walk or drive away. We can’t comment on the pool, which was closed for winter, and we didn’t use the gym, though it looked like it had what you’d need for a workout. For the price, cleanliness, comfort, decent light breakfast, and friendly service, we’d happily book again.
