The Jarvis at 220

We loved being able to leave the car and walk around New Bern, from the waterfront and downtown to the Farmer's Market. The Jarvis Suite had a great deck for taking in the sights and sounds, and was cozy despite being very spacious. It was beautifully decorated, too. We were in town for our anniversary and were so glad we chose both New Bern and The Jarvis. The house is gorgeous, and the lovely lobby made a great first impression. Ian was wonderful, very personable, full of useful local suggestions, and a great cook. Both breakfasts were delicious. I’d absolutely recommend The Jarvis and hope we can come back.

Ian was full of helpful information about things to do and places to go, and his breakfasts were fabulous. My husband and I stayed at The Jarvis over Valentine weekend while visiting friends in New Bern. Our room had a lovely view and its own porch, and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite was lovely as well. It’s a beautiful bed and breakfast, and I’d highly recommend staying there.

Ian made our wedding weekend feel so special. He kindly had a light breakfast ready extra early on the wedding day, and even offered us extra large umbrellas so my dress wouldn’t get ruined in the rain. That kind of care is hard to find in a hotel. I can’t say enough about The Jarvis. I’d recommend the house or its adorable cottage for a getaway, anniversary, wedding weekend, or really any time. Thanks again for everything!

We’re local, but spent an afternoon and night away in the large Jarvis suite to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Having the whole house to ourselves was lovely, and Ian, the innkeeper, was marvelous and so accommodating. We felt right at home. The Jarvis is a stunning home, inside and out, with lots of history. Ian made us an awesome breakfast, and we enjoyed talking with him and hearing what he knew about downtown. We’ll definitely come back.
