The pool deck and river viewing spot are lovely places to relax and watch the boats go past. We stopped by last weekend while in New Bern because we wanted to spend time by the river, and ordered drinks in the Hotel lounge. Tyler was tending Bar, chatting with us about where we were from and making sure everyone liked their drinks. He and the Hotel deserve a shout-out. Great bartenders make it a really nice place to hang out.

The location is beautiful and the service was wonderful, but something happened that really bothers me. My razor's cut setting was at 1.5 and later had been changed to 7, apparently while the housekeepers were in the room. That kind of turn doesn't seem like an accident, and it's why I gave a low rating.

From the fifth floor I could look out over the marina and watch the sunrise. The restaurants in downtown New Bern are all within walking distance, and that location more than makes up for the place being a bit dated, in my opinion. The staff were friendly and helpful, with free warm cookies and bottled water. There's also a restaurant on site, and you can sit by the pool right next to the marina.

The employees were friendly and helpful, but the hotel felt old and poorly maintained, which left us very disappointed. We booked it for the water views over Fourth of July weekend. Each evening around 6, the windows fogged between the glass panels until it was hard to see outside. We mentioned it, and staff said that was normal and it would clear. It only cleared by morning. The room also had used contact lenses in the bathroom sink, streaks down the back of the toilet, and toothpicks on the floor beside the mattress. We really didn't expect this.

Amazing views and a great spot for conferences or a weekend away. The place was very clean, the staff were so friendly, and shops and restaurants are just a short walk away.
