Hampton Inn & Suites New Braunfels

The main thing that let breakfast down was the complete lack of meat. Otherwise, my wife and I had a good weekend stay at the Hampton Inn in New Braunfels. It’s an older hotel, which was fine, and the staff were excellent. We had a king size room, though an ottoman would have been nice.

I had a disgusting stay and will not return. The room was clearly used and not properly cleaned, if it had been cleaned at all. There was hair in the bed, the microwave was dirty, the tub was backed up so the shower wouldn't drain, and the toilet hadn't been cleaned. I told the front desk gentleman, but Mr Patel, the owner, has never contacted me about it. We booked this Hampton because our usual hotel wasn't available for a family weekend at TXST, and we'd stayed with the Hampton name before. The cleaning standards here were nowhere near what I expected from the brand. Owners need to pay housekeepers and hire enough of them so guests don't have to deal with dirty rooms. I don't understand buying a hotel to make money without putting money back into it to keep it safe and clean. This isn't a fake review.

Our night before moving into a rental was pleasant, with a clean room, nice staff, an outdoor pool, and an accessible location. What really mattered to my family happened afterward, though. At the rental, my computer wouldn't connect to the WiFi, and I needed an Ethernet port to set it up. There wasn't one there. After spending hours trying to solve it, I made one last attempt and stopped at the Hampton Inn to ask whether I could use the port in their business center, even though we weren't guests anymore. They said yes. I'm so grateful. They were kind to me and sweet with my tired five year old. Highly recommend this hotel.

The downstairs work area was quiet and comfortable. We sat together there and got our data submitted.
