The Resort At Schlitterbahn

The manager and staff were kind and accommodating while we were there visiting family. Our room was very clean, with a full kitchen and a separate bedroom, and the large pool was clean too. We'll stay here again.

We had a good time together as a family and would recommend the place. We booked one of the more affordable rooms, which was okay, though I might pay extra for a better one next time. It was still a fine place to sleep, take walks, watch outdoor movies in the evening, and swim in the pools after the park closes. Can't wait to come back.

The musty smell and the very old, uncomfortable futon made the room a letdown. We booked for eight people because the listing said it accommodated eight, but that futon shouldn't really count as a bed. The AC also couldn't keep up with the heat, and we couldn't reach anyone for help after trying several times. I never expected a place calling itself a resort to be like this. I've added photos to show how dated and poorly maintained things looked. I usually read reviews carefully and have never ended up somewhere like this before. The price made it especially painful, since I expected a nice resort. I hope this helps someone avoid the same mistake. We're not sure we'll stay the second night.

We paid $650 for one basic room for one night, and couldn't even find a place to park. Check-in wasn't until 4 pm, with checkout around 10 or 11 am, and there was no option for early check-in or late checkout. With young kids, that late start already cut into the day, but we were eager to get to the water park and arrive right at check-in. Instead, we spent nearly an hour circling a completely full lot. After 4:30, we went back to the front desk to ask for a refund. At that point it didn't seem worth it, especially when there was nowhere to park and get to our room or the park. We drove an hour and a half for nothing, our weekend was ruined, and we got our money back without staying.
