La Quinta by Wyndham New Cumberland-Harrisburg

The beds were comfy, and the people here were really nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good, and the gym was great too. The hotel is right off I-83, with lots of restaurants in walking distance and a little plaza one exit down that has pretty much anything. 10/10, I’d stay again.

We booked two rooms for a business trip through Hotels.com, but our work schedule changed, so we asked to shift the dates by one day. The hotel wouldn’t make the adjustment, even as a one-time courtesy. Both rooms went unused, and we lost the full amount. What kind of hotel would rather leave rooms empty than change the dates? I travel for business and have clients in the area, but I won’t return or recommend this place to my team or colleagues. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Check the third-party site’s cancellation rules carefully before you book.

The location was good, but that was about it. There were stains across the ceiling and on the mattress, the shower head was rusting, and noise from outside and neighboring rooms was bad. They advertise hairdryers, but ours didn’t have one. At checkout we were told we have to request them because people steal them from the rooms. The buffet breakfast was just scrambled eggs and sausage that looked old, plus plain white and wheat bread. We went to a local diner instead, and it was fantastic.

The room was clean, and breakfast was satisfactory, but there were several things missing: no hairdryer, pad, pencil, Bible, blanket, or extra pillow. The maid had left a dirty, torn cleaning rag on the sink. I also found a dead many-legged bug near the window, which was unlatched, so I had to try to lock it. I had to unplug the air conditioner to get to sleep.
